At Surfs UP NY our aim is to teach you everything you need to know to start surfing and make sure you have a blast out in the water! Your Instructors are World-Class Surfers with 15+ Years of Surfing & Teaching experience. All instructors are Certified Lifeguards.

Peter Shaw

Peter Shaw is a local NYC Surfer who's been surfing, traveling, and competing since age 9. He’s been teaching for 15 years (exactly). He has surfed famous big wave spots like Nazaré (Portugal), Pipeline (Oahu, Hawaii), Teahupo’o (Tahiti), Uluwatu (Indonesia), Jaws (Maui, Hawaii). and of course New York. He teaches Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced lessons!

Checa

Local Queens surfer girl and world traveler! She teaches beginner lessons & kids lessons. She’s surfed some cool surf spots in the Philippines, Sri Lanka & Puerto Escondido, Mexico.

Big Wave Ben

Ben is a local NY surfer who teaches beginner & intermediate lessons.
